Greetings Rich,

We do not need the honey right away. Do you what causes a hive to be a dead out? I thought that one closes tot the house had a great queen and all was going well.

Thanks,

C

Subject: bees at Mahonia

Hello Cylvia,

I had the opportunity to look in the top of the two hives there at Mahonia on Monday. The hive closest to the house is a dead-out. The other hive is very strong for December. I'll get the dead out going again this spring. I didn't take the time to clean out the dead-out. I did see where there is a pile of dead bees on the bottom board. I have one dead-out hive at home, so two hives lost so far. That's not bad at all.

I still have about two cases of honey left in the bucket. Mary is going to order two more cases of jars. I probably won't be in a big hurry to bottle them unless you need them right away.

Cheers,

Rich Farrier
