Do you have a linkage with the Portland Economic Opportunity Initiative? We are concerned about possible overlap in the eyes of NWAF. Bev Portland Development Commission of Portland, Ore., received $380,000 over three years for the Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative, a partnership between the city of Portland, Ore., nonprofit organizations, residents and private business. The goal of this program is to create jobs, strengthen existing businesses, and fill vacant storefronts. The grant will support a three-year cohort of workforce development activities among participants of the Portland Economic Opportunity Initiative, an initiative designed to increase wages of low-income workers.
