It is a pleasure to meet you via email - I have been hearing a lot about Kiva in Oregon recently, so it is a pleasure to make the connection.

As Jonny mentioned, we have found huge success in raising loan matching funds as part of each Kiva launch in the U.S. If you think there is opportunity to do the same from local funders in Oregon, I would be more than happy to talk strategy with you.

This email is to connect you with Lisa Hogen, who is our Chief Development Officer at Kiva. One thing that has made programs like this successful in the past is raising "loan matching funds" from leading corporations or foundations who are committed to the communities we are serving. For example, the Diller -- von Furstenberg Family Foundation gave us a large sum of money to match loans when we launched in Los Angeles last year, and Capital One gave us $500k recently to match loans throughout the U.S.. It's great impact and branding for the donor, and it really helps to ensure that the loans fundraise quickly, and the borrowers get the money they need sooner.

I thought it would be worth connecting you with Lisa, in case there were similar fundraising opportunities that you could help her tap into in Oregon.
