Hi Cylvia,

With apologies, I will miss Monday’s meeting. We are joining two nieces, both in the military, who happen to be in the Bay area at the same time. Just for the weekend, but we are driving and won’t be back until Monday evening.

I haven’t done as well by this assignment as my standards dictate, but am pleased at the progress made and by your leadership of it. I look forward to any other assignment for me that occurs to you.
