Dear Ms. Hayes,

I have just left a voice message regarding your generous offer to join us for our Annual Conference in Portland on Sunday afternoon. My cell is 202.421.8280. In addition to these two links, Samantha Lee of our office will send you an information sheet on WIC in Oregon.

Here is a link to an easy primer on WIC from our website:

Here is a position statement that we published regarding WIC and Ending Hunger that may also be useful:

WIC is first and foremost a public health nutrition program. The nutritious food supplements that WIC makes available thru food instruments in some states and EBT cards in other states are the “carrots” that help draw mothers to the Program where we provide nutrition education, breastfeeding support and promotion, health and social service referrals. It is our hope that when we are doing things right, WIC offers mothers and young children a safe environment and a holistic approach to transforming lives.

I look forward to chatting with you and to your joining us on Sunday at the Hilton.

Kind Regards,

Douglas
